EPA investigating for potential violation in Scranton

Federal agents spent hours investigating a potential violation of the Clean Water Act at the Environmental Services Corp.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Officers were serving a federal search warrant for a waste and water management company in Lackawanna County.

According to EPA officials, officers searched the Environmental Services Corp., along North Keyser Avenue, for potential violations of the Clean Water Act.

Investigators could be seen coming in and out of the office area, but it's unclear what they were searching for or what led to the potential violation.

On the Environmental Services Corp. website, they've operated for more than 50 years and provide waste removal and water management solutions.

The agency says the FBI and the State's Attorney General's office are investigating a potential violation of the Clean Water Act at the company.
