OLD FORGE, Pa. — The parking lot at the Diamond Club sits vacant after a court order temporarily shut down the business Wednesday evening.
According to its social media page, the gentlemen's club was supposed to be open for 'Sexy Wednesday,' but that all changed after court papers were filled out just after 3 p.m..
A Lackawanna County judge ordered a temporary stay of operations at the Diamond Club, Club VIP, and any other business located at the property on North Keyser Avenue in Old Forge.
The court papers, filed by the District Attorney's Office, include statements from borough residents and officials about how they feel the location threatens nearby communities and police safety.
In early December, police responded to the club's address after a man was shot and killed in the parking lot.
This was the second shooting outside the establishment in the same year.
On January 1, Jordan Allen was accused of firing off several shots as his ex-girlfriend left the building. One of the bullets struck someone in a nearby car, putting them in critical condition.
Following the most recent shooting in December, the property owners announced they would close Club VIP, an after-hours establishment in the same building.
Newswatch 16 reached out to the man who owns Club VIP and the Diamond Club about the court orders. We did not get a direct response.
A post to the club's Facebook page around 8 p.m. said, "Diamond Club is closed and will remain closed!"
According to the paperwork, the case against the club will not be in front of a court until January 3, so the property will remain closed for at least the next two weeks.
