Coroner called to home in Scranton's west side

Police and the coroner were called to a home in the city's west side Wednesday morning.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Scranton police are investigating a suspicious death in the city's west side.

A crime scene unit and the county coroner were called to the 1100 block of Rock Street around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers responded to the home for reports of a burglary. When they arrived, it became a death investigation. The crime scene unit was called in, along with city detectives and the Lackawanna County coroner.

We don't know the circumstances of what happened inside the home, but the coroner says a man is dead, and police are considering the death suspicious.

A neighbor said another man was taken out of the home in handcuffs. Police say they have someone they are questioning in relation to this investigation and that they are awaiting a search warrant.
