TAYLOR -- UPDATE: A woman is dead and her husband is behind bars after a death investigation in Lackawanna County.

Investigators say Robert Sanchuk, 62, admitted to 911 dispatchers he killed his wife Jill in a home on Prince Street in Taylor.

Officers say the woman's body was found in the home covered in blood Tuesday.

"The charges tonight (Tuesday) are aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person. It's right now regarded as a suspicious death. We'll be awaiting forensics autopsy. Hopefully, they conduct it tomorrow (Wednesday), maybe we'll know more at that point in time, potentially amend our charges," said Lackawanna County District Attorney Shane Scanlon.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday to find out how she died.

Sanchuk faces assault charges right now, but the district attorney says that could change depending on the outcome of the investigation in Lackawanna County.
