State trooper injured in crash near Carbondale

The wreck in Greenfield Township happened before 11 a.m. Monday.

LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — A state trooper was injured in a wreck that tied up traffic in part of Lackawanna County Monday morning.

The crash happened around 10:45 a.m. in Greenfield Township near Carbondale at the intersection of Routes 106 and 247.

One car went off the road, over an embankment, and ended up in a field.

Two people were injured. First responders say that the state trooper was on duty when the wreck happened and is being treated for moderate injuries.

There is no word on what led to the wreck.
