Coroner: Man killed by lightning strike

The coroner thinks it was a lightning strike that killed a golfer Friday after in Lackawanna County.

TAYLOR, Pa. — The coroner in Lackawanna County says a man was killed after being struck by lightning during one of the strong storms that moved through our area this week.

The man was struck Friday afternoon at Pine Hills Golf Course in Taylor.

The coroner says Joseph Slivinski, 71, of Blakely, was struck around 1:30 p.m. on the course.

He was golfing with a group that broke up when the storms rolled through Lackawanna County.
