SCRANTON, Pa. — Another popular food to celebrate the new year is seafood.
Cooper's Seafood House in Scranton held a special seafood market, a shopping tradition Cooper's has been hosting for 35 years.
From a variety of fish, lobsters, and crab legs, the restaurant in Scranton sells anything fresh from the sea.
Their kitchen crew works on Christmas and New Year's Day just so customers can take home their holiday meal delicacies.
"They like to have it as close to the day as possible. They don't want to hold it in the refrigerator or freezer; they like to buy it as close to the holiday as possible," said Paul Cooper, owner of Cooper's Seafood House.
Paul Cooper says his workers are staying busy hand-peeling 1,000 pounds of shrimp to keep their market stand stocked in Scranton.
