Coats for Kids drive held in Scranton

Knights of Columbus sponsored the coat drive held at St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen Friday.

SCRANTON, Pa. — One group in Scranton is doing its part to keep children warm this winter.

The non-profit organization Knights of Columbus sponsored a Coats for Kids drive at St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen on Friday.

People could stop in from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to grab one of the 75 coats available.

"There's a lot of, you know, poor and underprivileged people that we want to be able to serve. And let them be warm throughout the winter because it is so important! It's paramount that we don't have people freezing in the middle of the winter," said Brian Hallock, PA Central District.

Knights of Columbus are handing out 11,000 coats state-wide.
