CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. — UPDATE: State Street in Clarks Summit is open again Monday morning.
Original story:
Part of a busy road in Lackawanna County is closed while workers try to repair utility poles damaged Sunday in a crash, Police Chief Chris Yarns said.
The crash happened Sunday morning in Clarks Summit and has closed South State Street between Old Lackawanna Trail and Highland Avenue.
A car collided with a pole on South State Street and cracked it. The crash pulled wires down, which destabilized three other poles, the chief said.
No injuries were reported, and a detour is in place, Yarns said.
No power outage has been reported, according to an outage map hosted by PPL Electric Utilities.
The state Department of Transportation estimated the road will reopen at 8 p.m., though Yarns worried it may take longer.
