Police looking for theft suspect from Clarks Summit bank

Police are looking for the fraudster after $6,400 reported stolen

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. — Community Bank in Clarks Summit reported a $6,400 theft by a fraudster who impersonated an account holder.

Security camera images show the man entering the bank and presenting the proper credentials to bank officials. The fraud was not immediately uncovered.

The incident occurred on June 21, but Community Bank did not report the theft until July 1.

The fraudster was seen entering the bank with the help of a cane; however, in a video released Thursday, July 11, by Clarks Summit Police, the man is seen walking around without it for a portion of the video.

Police said the man, in addition to presenting the proper credentials, also signed the withdrawal slip with the account holder's name.

Police are asking for help identifying the fraudster. If you think you can identify the suspect, call police at 570-587-3026.
