JESSUP, Pa. — It was a day filled with Italian tradition in part of Lackawanna County.
St. Ubaldo Day returned Saturday along with the Running of the Saints.
The tradition has been a part of Jessup culture since 1909, originating in Gubbio, Italy, in the 1100s.
Saint Ubaldo is the Patron Saint of Gubbio. Participants carry statues of Saints Ubaldo, Anthony, and George throughout the streets of Jessup.
The Running of the Saints only takes place in Jessup and Gubbio, Italy.
