SCRANTON, Pa. — The Lebanese Festival at the Saint Ann Maronite Church in Scranton began Sunday afternoon.
The festival offered visitors an inside look into Lebanese culture and dishes, including hummus and grape leaves.
The event aims to share the country's heritage with the greater community.
"This was our grandparents that started this church. As a matter of fact, my mother's father, Sayib Dawyeeb, brought this church here in the early sixties, 1960-some," said John Hazzouri, parishioner.
Organizers say Lebanese culture was brought to the Scranton area more than 100 years ago when families from the country settled here in 1903.
