Carbondale Area schools closed Friday after threat

The school was placed on lockdown Thursday, and while no evidence was found, the district has closed for Friday while the investigation continues.

CARBONDALE, Pa. — There will be no classes tomorrow for the Carbondale Area School District.

According to Superintendent Holly Sayre, the district was made aware of a potential threat at the Junior/Senior High School that had been shared on social media earlier Thursday.

The building went under a lockdown while police and school administration investigated the threat.

Police did not find anything at the school Thursday, but classes are cancelled tomorrow while the investigation continues at Carbondale Area.
