SCRANTON, Pa. — The church bells rang at Saint Peter's Cathedral and at more than 100 churches throughout the Diocese of Scranton at noon on Sunday.
Not to signify the start of mass, but as a show of solidarity for parishioners throughout Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.
Diocese of Scranton Bishop Joseph Bambera asked each church to ring their bells at noon for every day of Holy Week, which culminated on Easter Sunday.
