SCRANTON — A man in Lackawanna County was slapped with theft charges, accused of stealing from people he agreed to help.
A grand jury accuses Joseph Gilhooley of Scranton of agreeing to help people buy properties from Lackawanna County sheriff’s sales and then putting the properties in his name instead.
The indictment says Gilhooley would make a profit for himself by selling some of those properties.
Gilhooley faces eight counts of theft and is due in court next week.
