SCRANTON, Pa. — The PanCAN PurpleStride 5K Walk/Run stepped off Saturday morning at the Lackawanna Heritage Trail in Scranton.
The event raises money and awareness for those dealing with pancreatic cancer.
One man Newswatch 16 spoke with lost his father to the disease, "It means the world to me; it's great to see the support system that pancreatic cancer is getting, wouldn't have been able to do it without friends and family and community in supporting my father, in memory of my father, to raise the money," said Doug Pallman, Clarks Summit.
Newswatch 16's Mindi Ramsey was the emcee at Saturday's event in Lackawanna County.
