OLD FORGE, Pa. — A church in Lackawanna County brought back a tradition Saturday honoring veterans.
St. Michael's Orthodox Church in Old Forge hosted its 2nd annual Veterans Day Pasta Dinner.
"It's very important, especially for my own children, to extend that legacy not only to for them to understand, you know, that what we have are certain rights that we have in this country, but some of them also privileges as well to even be here," said Father Michael Sheperd, St. Michael's Orthodox Church.
In addition to the food, there was also a gift card and basket raffle with a variety of prizes.
A portion of the proceeds from the raffle will be donated to Camp Freedom a nonprofit that supports disabled veterans, first responders, and Gold Star families.
