SCRANTON, Pa. — The 15th annual Turkey Trot 5K benefitting Friends of the Poor kicked off Sunday in downtown Scranton.
Racers took off from the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and made their way down the Lackawanna Heritage Trail.
There was even a Tiny Trot relay for kids.
"I'm a third-year medical student at Geisinger. I've done the turkey trot last year, and this is the second year I recruited my mom to come along. It's super fun, and it's for a great cause," said Alivia Roberts, Hazleton.
Friends of the Poor helps those living in poverty in Lackawanna County.
