Bryan Kohberger is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Ada County on Thursday afternoon.
Kohberger, the man charged with killing four University of Idaho students in November 2022, has a status conference on 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ada County Courthouse, in Boise, in front of District Judge Steven Hippler, according to online court records. It will be Kohberger's first court appearance since being transferred to Ada County from Latah County, where the killings occurred, on Sept. 15 after Second District Judge John C. Judge granted a change of venue for the high-profile murder trial.
Kohberger, 29, has been held at the Ada County jail since being transferred.
No audio or video of Kohberger's hearings may be recorded, per a Sept. 19 court order. Live streaming or broadcasting of Kohberger's jury trial, currently slated for June 2025, may be addressed in the future. Thursday's hearing will be streamed on the Idaho Fourth District Court YouTube page.
Kohberger has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of burglary for the deaths of UI students Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin and Xana Kernodle on Nov. 13, 2022, at a home near the University of Idaho campus in Moscow.
