PENNSYLVANIA, USA — State officials have announced the start of the annual Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program known as 'LIHEAP'
The program helps low-income Pennsylvanians with home heating bills.
Last year's program was supplemented by American Rescue Plan dollars, so officials say this year's benefits will return to more traditional amounts of $300 to $1000 grants.
LIHEAP will also provide crisis grants for people who are in danger of having their heat shut off.
The income limit for the program is $21,870 for an individual, and $45,000 for a family of four (or 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Level).
The application period runs from now through April 5th of next year.
Those who qualify can apply online here, or by phone at 1-866-550-4355.
