COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — David Chmiel, a death row inmate from Lackawanna County, died of natural causes in state prison on Sunday.
Chmiel was convicted of stabbing and killing three people in Throop back in 1983. The 69-year-old had his execution stayed in 2007.
Chmiel had two previous murder convictions overturned in Lackawanna County.
