37th annual Bloomsburg 4-Wheel Jamboree returns

Newswatch 16's Mackenzie Aucker shows us what to expect at the Four-wheel Jamboree.

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — Over 2,500 4-wheelers are revving their engines throughout the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds. That can only mean one thing—it's time for the 37th annual Bloomsburg 4-Wheel Jamboree.

"I was here for the first show in '87. I pretty much brought the show here from Indiana and told them, the head of the fairgrounds, 'Here's the phone number; see if we can get this show over here.' And next thing you know, it's here. But I built this truck here; I think my first race was in '87, and I just kept going with it," said Kid Raraig of Catawissa.

There are plenty of events scheduled through Sunday, like monster truck racing and mud bog racing. Organizers promise fun for the whole family.

"We've got stock tough trucks, as well as what we call side-by-sides, which are more of the professional mud vehicles. That's all in the competition area, the show and shine area in the midways open," said Andy Knapp, chief financial officer at Events Inc.

Robert Yonkin from Montgomery is one of many 4-wheel lovers who make this an annual trip.

"I've been coming up here for about 20-some years every year, and it's nice to come up and see everybody and see other builds some of what the other people are doing."

For Dale Steigerwalt from Nazareth, the 4-wheel jamboree is like a family reunion.

"It's all about family, so my son and my daughter both drive now. My son didn't start driving yet but they come. My daughter helps me clean the truck all the time. It's all about family, like, a lot of us have little kids. My kids are grown up now, but there's a lot of—as you go around, there will be a lot of families."

The Bloomsburg 4-Wheel Jamboree runs all weekend at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds.
