Red Power Showdown | International Harvester tractors on display

Hundreds of International Harvester tractors are on display at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds through Saturday.

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — Hundreds of tractors are on display at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds, and all of them were made by International Harvester. This is the Red Power Showdown, and people from all over the country are displaying their tractors. Some date back to the early 1900s.

"They spend a lot of money. It's a hobby. It's like collecting kewpie dolls or whatever you want to collect. These guys collect tractors, and they like to be able to bring them someplace for people to see," said Ben Trapani, the show chairman.

The show is put on by the International Harvester Collectors of Central PA.

"It's like a family. Me and my wife were in Nebraska last summer for a national event. We go to the winter conventions. These people are your friends," Trapani said.

Organizers expect around 600 tractors.

Chuck Moore is here from New Hampshire.

"I brought two," Moore said. "It's just neat getting together with all the IH enthusiasts, having a good time, and learning all kinds of different things."

Jim Beachell is visiting from Massachusetts.

"You see stuff here you don't see up north," Beachell said. "It's a fantastic show. I've got a few cubs myself, but I enjoy the show here."

The Red Power Showdown runs through Saturday at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds.
