COLUMBIA COUNTY, Pa. — Police are investigating a deadly crash in Columbia County.
Pennsylvania State Police say they responded to a crash at the intersection of Route 118 and Mountain Road in Jackson Township shortly after 3:00 p.m. on July 3.
Troopers say a car was speeding and illegally passing vehicles in the eastbound lane. That car then hit a motorcycle head-on. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The driver of the car, Craig Evans, 24, of Summit Hill, was charged with homicide by motor vehicle while DUI and other violations.
The victim was identified on Monday as Michael Company, age 22.
The deadly crash remains under investigation.
