COLUMBIA COUNTY, Pa. — According to the Main Township Volunteer Fire Company, multiple crews from Columbia and Montour County were called to a possible plane crash around 5:20 p.m. near Mainville Drive in Main Township.
As night fell, multiple drone teams from fire, police, and Columbia-Montour SWAT equipped with night vision and thermal cameras, and a PSP helicopter with a spotlight searched the Nescopeck and Catawissa mountain tops and Susquehanna River area for the possible missing plane.
Columbia-Montour SWAT was also on the scene to help in the search with mapping and command, while multiple officers from other departments called airports around the area to run tail numbers.
The search ended as the plane was eventually found after it went out and in on the radar and landed safely at an airport in Maryland.
