Man pleads guilty in Columbia County cold case

A man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the killing of 17-year-old Shamar Washington back in 2001.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Pa. — A man from New Jersey is set to be sentenced this week after killing a teenager in Columbia County 23 years ago.

Brian Quinn entered an involuntary manslaughter plea on Friday.

In 2001, the body of 17-year-old Shamar Washington was found in a rural area near Bloomsburg.

An autopsy found Washington was beaten, stabbed, and shot.

Quinn was finally arrested more than two decades later in 2022.
