Unique vendors at the Bloomsburg Fair

Newswatch 16's Mackenzie Aucker searched the fairgrounds for interesting food and games.

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — Take a stroll around the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds, and you can find just about anything your heart desires. A big part of the fair is the food, but there are also treats you can pick up for your four-legged friends at Abby's Doggone Good Cookies inside the Arts and Crafts building. The business offers healthy, homemade dog treats.

"She started making treats just for her dog, and then her friends were like, well, those are better than ones that I get in the store. Can I buy from you?  So she turned it into a small business, and so she did it for years and years until she couldn't do it anymore, and she had to retire, and then that's when she advertised it," said Lauren Hackenburg, owner of Abby's Doggone Good Cookies.

Lauren Hackenburg recently took over the business and learned how to make all of the original recipes.

"And added a few more by customer requests, but everything that's in our cookies is good for the dogs. Our ingredients are things that you find in your kitchen cupboards," said Hackenburg.

Over at Timbone's Licorice Ropes, located in the Grandstand, you will find all kinds of licorice bursting with flavor from Spain.

"We have sweet and sour, we sell it by the 25-inch rope, it's like limited to like fairs, so it's kind of like fun because you can only get it every once in a while, so it's kind of like a delightful little treasure," said Pame Consentino, Timbone's Licorice Ropes.

You can get five pieces of licorice rope for $20 or a single rope for $5.

"I think there's like 27 different flavors to choose from, so it just makes it fun, it's a hard decision to make, but there's not a bad one to make," said Consentino.

These unique vendors will be at the fair until Saturday in Columbia County.
