LOCK HAVEN – Incumbent, Democratic candidate Mike Hanna was welcomed by cheers just minutes after he was announced the winner of the 76th district House of Representatives race.
Representative Hanna celebrated at the Saloon a bar in Lock Haven after winning against his challenger, Republican candidate Stephanie Borowicz.
"Closer than any other one I've had before but 53-47. We are happy with that. My supporters did a great job and the voters did a great job," said Hanna
Hanna has held the role as state representative in Clinton County and part of Centre County for 26 years. This is his 14th election and 14th win.
According to the voter registration office in Lock Haven, this was the first time in about 10 years the majority of registered voters in Clinton County were Republican. Because of that change, voters may have seen more political ads than years past for both candidates
"This is one of those elections where for the last two months or so you just have to keep your head down because there was a lot going on. I think it worked out very well. I'm very happy with the work that was done by the campaign, and I'm very happy with the results of the election,” said Hanna.
Mike Hanna will start his 14th term this January.
