RENOVO -- Murder charges were filed Friday against a husband in Clinton County accused of killing his wife.
Police now say William Snyder of Renovo strangled his wife Kelly and then dumped the body.
She was reported missing Easter Sunday and he was part of a search to find her. Friday afternoon, we learned the details of how police say he killed her.
Snyder is now charged with first and third degree murder. He was previously charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
In arrest papers it says the Snyders got into a fight at their home in Renovo last month. He told police she threw a punch at him. He then grabbed her around the neck and she stopped breathing.
Police say he put Kelly Snyder in a sleeping bag, drove to a creek, and dumped her body.
When he was arrested on abuse of corpse charges, he said he was disposing of her to save embarrassment because she overdosed on drugs.
When Kelly Snyder went missing, many in Renovo helped in the search to find her. Her husband was among them, but now he's in the Clinton County jail.
