LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — The Lock Haven fire and police departments said the body of an 18-year-old man, later identified as Gavin Frey, was pulled from the Susquehanna River in Clinton County on Saturday. Another 22-year-old man rescued from the water was flown to a Danville hospital in critical condition.
The city's first responders on Sunday morning provided an update on the river rescue that played out just before 5 p.m. directly out from the City Beach area in Lock Haven.
City police, firefighters, and EMS rushed to the scene at approximately 4:45 p.m. because two swimmers started yelling for help.
Boaters in the area managed to rescue the 22-year-old, but Frey was nowhere in sight.
Crews searched for hours before pulling Frey's body from the water.
