LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Eggs lay out on the lawn of the Joseph Yost Community Center in Lock Haven for the Clinton County Housing Authority's Easter egg hunt.
Children hold their Easter bags excitedly, ready to grab as many eggs as they can. Roxanne Gottshall is the housing authority's tenant services coordinator. She says the Easter egg hunt is an annual family tradition.
"We invite the community to the Easter egg hunt. We stuff about 1,000 eggs and let them run around," said Gottshall.
Some of the eggs contained a piece of paper on which children could claim a prize. Their names were also drawn for a basket raffle.
"The prizes range from a variety of different baskets. We have some non-candy things too, like sticker books and things like that—just fun stuff," said Gottshall.
8-year-old Ethan Moore from Lock Haven tells us he grabbed too many eggs for him to count. He was hoping for one candy in particular.
"Airheads because they're sour, and I like sour stuff," said Ethan Moore of Lock Haven.
Gottshall says she loves how much joy the Easter egg hunt brings to the children.
"I love it. I love working with the kids, I like seeing them have a sense of pride, I like seeing them engage with other people, and it's just really fun."
Children were also able to take home an Easter egg dying kit thanks to a donation from the Clinton County Housing Authority.
