CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. — Two men have been sentenced for their roles in a deadly hazing case at Penn State.

In July, Brendan Young and Daniel Casey each pleaded guilty to 14 hazing counts and one reckless endangerment charge after a hazing incident that ultimately killed Timothy Piazza.

In 2017, Piazza drank large amounts of alcohol as part of an initiation event at Beta Theta Pi fraternity at PSU.

Officials say he fell multiple times and died days later as a result.

Young was fraternity president then, and Casey was vice president and pledge master.

On Tuesday, Young and Casey were sentenced to two to four months in prison (with work release eligibility), followed by three years probation, plus community service.
