LEHIGHTON, Pa. — Walking through the maze at Yenser's Tree Farm, you are surrounded by sunflowers. It's an acre and a half of branching sunflowers, with surprises all throughout.
"There's a leisurely path through the sunflowers, just a few dead ends, but it's more like a stroll with lots of photo ops to get lots of pictures with family and friends," Jan Wentz said.
The sunflower maze is just one activity at the farm in Lehighton. This weekend Yenser's Tree Farm is gearing up for its fourth annual Sunflower Festival. The event runs Friday through Sunday from 11-6. You can pick your own sunflowers for $1.50 per flower or $13 for a bundle of ten flowers.
"If you'd like to do activities, including the sunflower maze, the reindeer train, farm fun zone kids area and the air cannons, that is a wristband for $12," Jan said.
Something new this year: this building. Valley View at Yenser's has been in the works for about two years.
"It's the perfect event space for weddings, birthday parties, showers, corporate events. We're trying to have a mix of all those events here. It's a climate controlled building so we're open all year round," Megan Wentz said.
Valley View at Yenser's opened last weekend and the building will house vendors at this weekend's Sunflower Festival.
Again, the sunflower festival runs Friday-Sunday from 11-6 at Yenser's Tree Farm in Lehighton.
