WEISSPORT, Pa. — A 42-year-old man was locked up Sunday in Carbon County on criminal charges that alleged he stabbed someone several times in Weissport.
In a brief statement issued Sunday, state police in Hazleton said David Osenbach attacked a man Thursday night on Bridge Street. The victim, 40, was rushed to a local hospital.
Osenbach, of Lehighton, was arrested Friday and jailed at the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 bail. He is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.
The victim's condition Sunday was not released by the state police, nor was his name.
Authorities also did not release any information regarding what reportedly led up to the stabbing or how troopers identified Osenbach identified as the alleged assailant.
A spokesman from Troop N, which covers Carbon County, declined to provide Osenbach's arrest paperwork. Staff from the office of the arraigning district magistrate, Eric M. Schrantz, could not be reached Sunday.
Schrantz tentatively scheduled a preliminary hearing Sept. 4, according to a docket.
