LEHIGHTON, Pa. — A fire department in Carbon County celebrated a milestone on Saturday.
The Lehighton Fire Department marked 150 years of service Saturday with a parade along 7th and Coal Streets in the borough.
Officials with the department say the community support is overwhelming.
"Just seeing the community come out, individuals, sponsorships from the businesses. We've been overwhelmed with the support that we have gotten from the community backing us for this 150th celebration," said Chief Patrick Mriss, Lehighton Fire Department.
A free community event followed the parade Saturday in Carbon County.
