Fire damages Palmerton building

The place in Carbon County caught fire around 10 a.m. Monday.

PALMERTON, Pa. — Flames damaged a building in Carbon County Monday morning.

The fire started around 10 a.m. in a building on Lehigh Street in Palmerton.

The fire chief says several apartments in the building were damaged.

One woman inside got out safely.

The chief said the different shapes of the roofs made it tough to fight.

The cause has not been determined.

A woman from Palmerton will be helping the families affected. She will be picking up items like clothes and other items from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily. If you are interested in helping, you can call Maria at 570-856-7470.

Additionally, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help out a child affected by the fire.

On Monday, February 22, a member of our Palmerton Blue Bomber Basketball team, Aidan Haupt and his family lost everything due to a house fire. We are asking that you donate whatever you can to help the family through this difficult time. Thank you!
