CARBON COUNTY, Pa. — A special celebration for an Eagle Scout in Carbon County.
Phoenix Kalavoda of Troop 555 in the Jim Thorpe area built a songbird enclosure at the Carbon County Environmental Education Center for his Eagle Scout project.
Phoenix has been involved with his troop for the past 11 years, and his brother Dakota also did his Eagle Scout project at the center years ago.
He says he wanted to make sure the birds had a safe and lasting home.
The project took nearly 500 hours and more than 20 volunteers to complete.
