CARBON COUNTY, Pa. — A Lehighton man is hospitalized with serious injuries after fleeing a traffic stop in Carbon County Thursday evening.
State Police attempted to pull over the 20-year-old driver for a vehicle code violation around 6:30 p.m.
Instead, troopers say the driver did not stop, and continued on Route 248 from Franklin Township for approximately 10 miles into Towamensing Township.
According to State Police, the pursuit ended when the driver lost control of his vehicle, drove off the road, and crashed into a tree.
Troopers said the driver was life-flighted from the scene and has a serious injury.
The name of the driver was not released.
