WEISSPORT, Pa. — State police in Carbon County say a Lehighton man attacked his drug dealer last week with a knife and machete because the dealer could not quickly fill the requested order.
Details from Thursday night's knife attack under a bridge in Weissport were disclosed in court paperwork released Monday by the office of Magisterial District Judge Eric M. Schrantz, of Jim Thorpe.
In the documents, investigators alleged David T. Osenbach pulled a knife and machete on Anthony J. Riggio just before 10 p.m. near Bridge Street because Riggio told Osenbach that he could not quickly produce the amount of drugs Osenbach wanted.
State police Cpl. Richard Mrak and Trooper Daniel Magarelli learned details of the incident through interviews with those present.
Riggio suffered several stab wounds and lacerations. He was briefly intubated at Lehigh Valley Hospital — Cedar Crest.
Osenbach fled on a bicycle after the attack, state police said. He was later arrested, arraigned by Schrantz on charges including aggravated assault and jailed at the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
A preliminary hearing remains scheduled for Sept. 4.
