JIM THORPE, Pa. — A banquet was held in Carbon County to unite and thank veterans in the area.
The Carbon County Veterans Affairs held its third annual Veterans Day Banquet Wednesday evening at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe.
According to organizers, 400 veterans, including many Vietnam Veterans and one Korean War veteran, attended the event and enjoyed a meal together.
"We're really excited that they're able to come out and just provide this opportunity for them to get together. It's our chance to thank veterans while they're still alive," said Christine Leclair, Director of Veterans Affairs, Carbon County.
A Veterans Day Parade will be this Sunday and kicks off at 1:45 p.m. in Lansford.
