WILKES-BARRE -- Kids at the Food and Fun Program at the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA spend their summer days playing with new friends and trying new foods.

"They get to try a variety," said Jill Price, the program manager. "There's a fruit, there's a grain, there's a protein and they can go home well-fed."

So Newswatch 16 called on the campers to be adventurous and help us with this week's taste test: Cinnamon Almond Raisin Bran from Kellogg's.

Now we know that Raisin Bran may not be the most popular cereal for the younger crowd, so we were curious to hear what our testers had to say.

6-year-old Christian Gayle said, "It's tasty."

"The almonds really brought the flavor into the milk. Everything really tasted good," said Daniel Orrson of Pringle.

Winter Jenkins of Wilkes-Barre said, "I liked the almonds."

Counselors were surprised that even a few of their picky eaters ate the new raisin bran!

"I've seen a couple of them scarf it down, and they don't eat much of what we give them," said counselor Alyssa Kilbourn.

Cinnamon Almond Raisin Bran has 200 calories for a one and a quarter cup serving.

It also contains 18 grams of sugar and five grams of fiber.

The kids couldn't get enough of it.

"It was really good, I could taste the cinnamon and the almonds," said Michael Deininger, of Wilkes-Barre. "

Even 13-year-old Nadirah Saunders, who admits she's not a huge fan of raisins, really liked this cereal!

"You could taste the cinnamon in it and the almonds in it and it was really good," said Saunders.
