EAST SMITHFIELD, Pa. — One person has died after a fire at a home in Bradford County.
Several fire departments responded to the fire at the place along Ulster Road in Smithfield Township, north of Towanda, just before 9 a.m. Sunday.
One person taken from the home was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bradford County coroner's office.
Four others inside the home at time of the fire got out safely.
A firefighter also became ill and was taken to a hospital.
The Red Cross is helping the family.
A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause.
