The Philadelphia Inquirer reports a grand jury is recommending that Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane be indicted for leaking testimony from a 2009 secret grand jury.
Newswatch 16 spoke briefly with the attorney general by phone Thursday afternoon.
She says she cannot comment on the case because she has not seen any grand jury presentment. She adds that she has done nothing wrong nor broken any laws.
Kane, a Scranton native, made history in 2012 when she became the first woman, and the first Democrat to be elected Pennsylvania Attorney General.
But now she faces the possibility of criminal charges.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the grand jury found that Kane violated grand jury secrecy rules by leaking confidential material about a 2009 criminal investigation to a reporter.
The Inquirer quotes sources saying the grand jury recommended Kane be charged with perjury and contempt of court.
Kane's own attorney, Lanny Davis of Washington DC sent us a statement.
"The attorney general has done nothing wrong or illegal and, to my knowledge, there is no credible evidence that she has. She told the truth to the grand jury at all times. I hope the district attorney will reach same conclusion.
"This anonymous leak to the inquirer about this alleged presentment could be, in and of itself, a possible violation of the state grand jury secrecy act. I wonder why the supervising judge who appointed the special prosecutor to investigate the attorney general hasn't initiated a grand jury investigation of this leak or any of the other previous leaks from this same grand jury process."
It will be up to the district attorney in Montgomery County to decide whether or not to prosecute Kane.
