Man struck, killed, by intoxicated driver in Bradford County, state police say

Two others, including a child, were wounded in the crash

TOWANDA, Pa. — A 39-year-old man is dead following a collision Tuesday night with an intoxicated driver, state police in Bradford County said.

Charles F. Scott, 39, was locked up Wednesday on $300,000 bail for allegedly striking and killing Travis L. Delamater just before 10 p.m. on South Main Street in Towanda Township. 

State police say the crash happened as Delamater stood on the side of his Kia Sorrento he legally parked along the shoulder of the road. 

Suddenly, Scott's Chevrolet Silverado crashed into Delamater, fatally wounding him. 

The collision also wounded Delamater's passengers, Angela Baker, and a 4-year-old child.

Their conditions on Wednesday were unknown.

Scott showed signs of impairment and was arrested for homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence. Scott faces several other charges, such as an accident involving death or injury while not licensed, Recklessly endangering another person, and careless driving.

He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Aug. 14.
