HARRISBURG -- The problems continue for Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane. Agents raided her office in Harrisburg on Thursday.

Scranton native Kathleen Kane already faces charges of perjury and leaking confidential information.

The detectives that served the search warrant are from the Montgomery County prosecutor's office. That's the agency that is prosecuting Kathleen Kane.

Kane was arraigned last month in Norristown in Montgomery County. Prosecutors charged her with obstruction of justice and perjury, claiming she broke the law by leaking confidential information to a newspaper reporter, and then allegedly lying to investigators.

The detectives in Harrisburg arrived at the attorney general's office with the warrant. Sources say the detectives left with a handful of documents, but would not say what they took, or why there were there.

"We have no way of knowing what they are looking for. We have no way of knowing how it affects the attorney general directly or if it somehow affects the office in another way," said Chuck Ardo, spokesman for the AG's office.

As all this took place, Kane was working out of her office in downtown Scranton. She was unavailable for comment, but since the investigation broke, she says she has broken no laws, and that her prosecution was engineered by former assistants in her office she exposed for exchanging pornographic and racially insensitive emails.

The state Supreme Court is considering suspending Kane's license to practice law.

That could potentially lead to more action to force her out of office. The state constitution requires the attorney general to have a law license.

The Supreme Court ruling on whether to suspend her law license could come at any time.
