TROY, Pa. — Food, animals, rides, it could only mean one thing: the 148th Troy Fair is underway in Bradford County.
There is a little something for everyone at the fairgrounds.
"We got a new Transformer car; we got a drone show tonight and tomorrow night, which is new 10 p.m. both nights; we got a variety of new vendors as well as returning vendors, the animals, truck, and tractor pulls, tonight and tomorrow night," Josh Curren Troy Fair president.
Fair officials say about 50-thousand people come from all over Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania to visit the Troy Fair every year.
"We're a very affordable, family-friendly fair. It's only $10 for gate admissions, and that includes the rides, all the entertainment on the pavilion, Rosaire's Royal Racers pigs, so there's a lot of stuff going on for ten bucks," said Curren.
Including the animals. Many of those showing livestock, like Katie Lackey, are involved in 4-H and the Future Farmers of America.
"I show two brown swiss, and a pig this year, so behind me are my two brown swiss and I don't know it's just something I look forward to all year, I work towards it all year and it's just a lot of fun," said Katie Lackey of Troy.
Lackey says coming to the Troy Fair is like a family reunion for her.
"I see kids I haven't seen in like a year here and it's just fun cause i see them at the fair every year and we get to reconnect, and build more memories."
Harlan Press from Jobs Corners has been visiting the fair every year for the past 66 years!
"Former students because I was a teacher in the area and just friends, it's where I meet people, each year and sometimes i don't see them between fairs but I see them here and I do see a lot of my former students which i appreciate."
The 148th Troy Fair runs through Saturday.
