MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Led by Loren Gehret's 4 goals Southern Columbia defeated Freedom Area on Friday morning 5-3 to win the PIAA "A" State Girl's Soccer Championship.
The Tigers we're down at one point in the game 2-1 but built a 3-2 halftime lead. Up 4-2 Freedom scored a goal to pull to within 4-3 but Gehret netted her 4th goal of the game with just under 8 minutes to play.
This is now Southern Columbia's 3rd straight championship and they have noe won 4 of the last 5 state titles.
