WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Friday was the last day for the summer 2024 "Peace Camp" at the Gather Community Space in Wilkes-Barre.
The Peace and Justice Center has hosted the camp for more than 30 years. Peace Camp exposes kids to traditional summer camp activities like swimming and games while also teaching life lessons like how to problem solve by finding a middle ground.
Our Stormtracker 16 Meteorologist, Jeremy Lewan, was invited to present a lesson on cloud formation and conducted an experiment with the kids called "Storm in a Jar."
Nearly 50 students from kindergarten through 8th grade were enrolled in this year's Peace Camp in Luzerne County.
