Cervine Ceramics | Check It Out with Chelsea

There's a chance for people in our area to try their hand at an ancient art that continues to find new ways to shine.

LA PLUME, Pa. — Making something out of nothing is what drew Amy Denmon to the world of ceramics while studying at Keystone College.

"I started in art education because I have always been surrounded by the arts, but growing up on a farm, we created something out of nothing. So, when I took my first pottery class, I was like,' I can continue to make something out of nothing. I can play with mud all day. This is fabulous,'" Denmon said.

Denmon is the studio technician in the college's ceramics department and teaches community classes in both Wyoming and Luzerne Counties, in addition to her own ceramic business, Cervine Ceramics.

"A lot of time people will see it—they will see it on Facebook or Instagram or TikTok—and find it fascinating, but to see it in person, it's a totally different experience," Denmon said.
