Folks will be able to enjoy coffee, tea and baked goods while interacting with adoptable cats from Columbia Animal Shelter.

"Cat cafes" are growing in popularity; with about a dozen open in Pennsylvania in the Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Wilkes-Barre areas. "Lancatster Cat Cafe" would be the first of its kind to open in central Pa. The cafe is also expected to have a cat-free area for people would prefer to enjoy their treats without feline company.

"Lancatster Cat Cafe" is expected to open this fall. No exact date has been revealed for opening yet.

Cupboard Maker Books' store in Cumberland County has a similar concept, though, sells books.
